We are the provider of the already awarded ERNA-3D software, which allows
the interactive modeling of biologic molecules in an extremely realistic way.
Due to the usage of unique interaction technics, the software causes the im-
pression, as if the user would touch real RNA or protein molecules with his
own hands and gives him the intuitive ability to manipulate them.
ERNA-3D is a Molecular Modeling Expert System for scientists, who are wor-
king in the field of the structural determination of RNA and protein molecules
and which are concerned with the three-dimensional folding of these molecu-
les.
With ERNA-3D it is possible to create complicated RNA or protein molecu-
les within a few minutes and to manipulated these molecular models in an ex-
traordinary way never seen before. For instance, the user can pull molecular
Single Strands with his "hands" (by using a three-dimensional cursor), where-
by the course of these strands can be changed in a dynamic way. Double he-
lices, Alpha helices or Beta pleated sheets can freely be positioned and rota-
ted, whereby all connected Single Strands will dynamically follow the move-
ment of these moved structures. In this way the extremely complex folding of
molecular chains can be attained. No other Molecular Modeling Software has
ever shown such a capability to generate and modify molecular models.
ERNA-3D has been developed by Florian Mueller, who has worked more than
14 years on the development of this software.
